The Designer Home:
This contemporary home is situated over the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea in Bocas del Toro. Designed with clean, modern lines, it represents a unique asset in the Bocas Archipelago, blending the atmosphere of tropical serenity with urban sophistication.
The home expands to over 3300 square feet (306m2) including two covered terraces poised over the serene bay waters. The structure stands on concrete stilts and includes an open-concept kitchen, living, and dining area that captures breathtaking coastal views through enormous sliding glass doors. The home includes two bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, an additional bathroom, and a laundry/storage room.
High-quality materials from both local and international sources were used in the construction of the home. The floors, terrace, pier, and structural beams are made from Almendra, a beautiful, durable hardwood that can withstand tropical environments. The dining table is crafted from white marble imported from Greece, while the kitchen and shower tiles are Italian-imported ceramics.
The Private Island Property:
The property also includes a pier that leads to the boathouse, caretaker’s quarters, and a storage building. The boathouse is equipped with a boat and boat-lift, and the caretaker’s house measures 30×30 meters. The 300 square foot storage building houses two water tanks and the solar system, alongside tool storage. The island also has internet connectivity and good mobile phone coverage.
The property sits on a 7000 square foot (650m2) private island, about 35 minutes from Isla Colon by boat and only 15 minutes from the beautiful Zapatillas Islands. The island boasts a variety of fruit trees including Guava, Mango, and Coconut Palms, among others. It is surrounded by a rock seawall and sits at the entry of a small protected bay. The water around the house is crystal clear with coral reefs on both sides.
The island’s off-grid systems include a high-quality solar system, two large rainwater catchment tanks, and a boat lift, all positioned on the opposite side of the island from the home for unobtrusive living.
Included with the property are a 19 ft Stingray boat, 115 HP Yamaha motor, a 27″ Apple iMac, four high-end studio speakers, a subwoofer, a large screen, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, amp, and effect devices.
