This 3.35 hectare property is accessible by a private road shared by neighbors on the Northern coast of Isla Colon. Aproximately 80% of the pie shaped property is on the beach side of the road, with a small triangle extending into the forest on the non-beachside of the road.
The property is one of the most forested parcels out there, with many large trees on both sides of the entrance. The driveway from the private road to the building site is long and required many truckloads of caliche fill. The entrance currently requires a 4-WD vehicle.
There are excellent views of the Caribbean Sea and of Bocas del Toro’s famous Bird Island. The elevated home site slopes very steeply toward the water.
A rocky beach and is accessible on the far West side of the property, where you can easily walk down to the water. There you will find a small spring, steps from a sandy beach and only a 15 minute walk from the gorgeous Mimbitimbi Lagoon.
Two structures remain, a casita & a pavilion. Both were constructed approx 9 years ago, and have been abandoned about 6 years ago. Both foundations for the 2 structures are in good shape.
The elevated home site reduces the amount of salt spray that can occur during rough offshore weather, this significantly reduces the amount of maintenance a coastal home needs. Less spray, but more breeze – the elevated site offers a cooler environment than at sea level, with less flying bugs!
